The Icelandic Women’s Rights Association has been a member of the International Alliance of Women (IAW) since 1907.
The April 2015 issue of the IAW newsletter introduces the next international meeting of the IAW, which will be held in Kuwait November 5 to 14 2015. Participants in the meetings are presidents of IAW member organizations, board, international representatives, office bearers, and guests invited by the Union of Kuwaiti Women.
The issue also discusses the recent meeting of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) which was held in New York in March. The commission adopted a political declaration on the very first day of the session of the Commission, much to the dissatisfaction of women’s NGO’s and civil societies. IAW hosted several side events at the CSW, and we can read about these events and see pictures in the newsletter.
