Welcome to a screening of Islandia, a short film by Eydís Eir Brynju- og Björnsdóttir, at Bíó Paradís, Saturday January 18th, at 2 p.m.

Brynja is having the time of her life in a foreign country when all of a sudden her world is turned upside down. She finds herself standing at a crossroad; fight or flight. On her way, she meets women from all over the world that have found themselves in the same situation. The film Islandia is based on a true story.

Following the screening the film’s director, Eydís Eir, will join a panel discussion headed by moderator Paula Gould. Special guest speakers are Brynhildur Heiðar- og Ómarsdóttir, Secretary General of the Icelandic Women’s Rights Association (Kvenréttindafélag Íslands), Sólveig (Daðadóttir, Treasurer of the Feminist Association of the University of Iceland and Educational Director for Q – queer student association, and, Stella Samúelsdóttir, Director of UN Women Iceland.

In an effort to help women across the globe, RVK Feminist Film Festival will be accepting donations for the tickets, all proceeds will go towards UN Women to fund women who have been impacted by gender based violence.

We will collect donations prior to the screening, suggested amount begins from 500 ISK.
