All the Icelandic labor federations and the Icelandic Women’s Rights Association invite the #metoo women to a meeting to discuss the next steps of the movement.
The meeting will take place on February 10 in Hotel Natura (in Þingsalur 2) between 10:00 and 14:00. A light lunch is included.
After a brief introduction, the participants will be have discussions in smaller groups to allow everyone a chance to get their perspective across. The goal of the meeting is to come up with proposals for how the labor unions can take the next steps to carry the message of the #metoo movement forward and take action, working with the representatives of employers and the government. Due to this format of the meeting, it is closed to the press, but all women in the media sector are welcome to participate in the discussion, of course.
All women who want to participate in the meeting are welcome to attend. The capacity of the venue is limited, so participants need to register in advance by sending an email to asi@asi.is.
Send your name, e-mail address, information about which #metoo group you belong to or sector/job title/position. This request of information is due to the format of the meeting and in order to have diverse participants at each table.
If any participants require the use of an interpreter for a specific language, or sign language interpreter, please let us know before February 3 with an email to asi@asi.is. The venue has good access for participants with mobility issues.
The meeting is organized by the following organizations: The Icelandic Confederation of Labor (ASÍ), The Icelandic Confederation of Academics (BHM), BSRB, The teachers union (KÍ) and The Icelandic Women’s Rights Association (KRFÍ).
