The February 2015 issue of the IAW newsletter introduces the declaration which will be adopted on the first day of the CSW 59, the 2015 meeting of the Commission for the Status of Women, which will take place in New York March 9-20 2015.

IAW will host three side events at the CSW, “Lessons Learnt from Women Presidents and Ministers” on March 10, 4.30pm in the CCUN Boss Room, “DEEDS—NO WORDS, Implementing CEDAW and UNSCR 1325” on March 11, 6.15pm on the CCUN 10th Floor, and “Why the Future of Economics and Economic Development must be Feminist” on March 13—10.30am in the CCUN Drew Room.

The newsletter also includes updates on from the World Health Organization and on the Oxfam report on wealth inequality published before the World Economic Meeting in Davos, updates from the Danish celebration of 100 years of women’s suffrage, and a letter from Zainab Syed in Pakistan on the massacre of school children in the Army Public School in Peshawar on 16 December 2014.
