Laufey er nýstofnað ungmennaráð Kvenréttindafélags Íslands.
Nafn ungmennráðsins á rætur sínar að rekja til Laufey Valdimarsdóttur, en hún var dóttir stofnanda Kvenréttindafélagsins, Bríet Bjarnhéðinsdóttir, og mikill jafnréttisfrömuður eins og foreldrar sínir. Hún var til að mynda fyrsta unga konan til að taka inntökupróf inn í Menntaskólann í Reykjavík (MR) eftir að konur fengu inngöngu í skólann árið 1904.
Laufey hefur það að markmiði að:

Stuðla að því að sjónarmið og áherslur ungs fólks í jafnréttisbaráttunni séu ávallt höfð til hliðsjónar í starfi KRFÍ.

Stuðla að nýliðun í KRFÍ.

Auka þekkingu og vitund meðal ungs fólks á jafnréttismálum.

Auka samstarf við önnur ungmennaráð innanlands og erlendis.
Allt ungt fólk á aldrinum 18-35 óháð kyni er velkomið að taka þátt í ungmennaráðinu og vinna að markmiðum félagsins! Laufey heldur skemmtilega viðburði, tekur þátt í ýmiss konar verkefnum og stuðlar að góðum félagslegum vettvangi fyrir meðlimi.

Laufey is the newly established youth council of the Icelandic Women’s Rights Association.
The name of the youth council traces its roots to Laufey Valdimarsdóttir, but she was the daughter of the founder of the Icelandic Women’s Rights Association, Bríet Bjarnhéðinsdóttir, and a great advocate for gender equality like her parents. For example, she was the first young woman to take the entrance exam to Reykjavík High School (MR) after women were admitted to the school in 1904.
Laufey aims to:

Ensure that the perspectives and priorities of young people in the fight for equality are always taken into account in the work of KRFÍ.

Encourage new recruitment and participation within KRFÍ.

Increase young people’s knowledge and awareness of equality issues.

Strengthen cooperation with other youth councils both domestically and internationally.
All young people aged 18-35, regardless of gender, are welcome to participate in the youth council and work towards the goals of the association! Laufey holds fun events, participates in a variety of projects, and fosters a community-based environment for its members.
